Is it normal to be obsessed with a rug? Because that’s how I’m feeling right now about our new master bedroom accent rug!
I’ve been searching for a while now to find the perfect accent rug to complete our master bedroom. I love the look of layering carpet and a rug, but I couldn’t find a rug that I really loved.
A huge thanks to Natural Area Rugs for providing an accent rug for this post. My favorable option of the beautiful, affordable rug is 100% my own. For more information, see my disclosures here.
My goal was to add some interest to our updated room. Over the past year, we had made some major changes to make this space more our style. We added a new king bed, new nightstands, and built an amazing grid board and batten accent wall.
I’m so happy with all the progress we have made this far and I’m really excited to share all of the decorative pieces that I’ve found to finish the room. Starting with an accent rug!
Searching for a rug online isn’t always the easiest thing to do. You don’t really have a good sense of how the rug feels or exactly what it will look like in real life. This made it difficult for me to find an accent rug that I really loved for our master bedroom.
I was worried that I would buy an accent rug and it would be too uncomfortable or rough for a bedroom. Afterall, a master bedroom should feel cozy! You don’t want a scratchy rug underneath your feet when you get out of bed.
Then I discovered Natural Area Rugs, and I knew I had found a stand-out company.
One of the primary focuses of Natural Area Rugs is to offer the best quality rugs on the market. They felt that there was an unfair quality and price gap that existed for area rugs, and they set out to disrupt the market. Now, they are one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality rugs at very affordable prices.
After looking around at some of the testimonials on their website, I was convinced that I needed to give their rugs a try. I quickly browsed through the different categories and fell in love with the Sarafina Vintage Oriental rug — a pretty blue accent rug.
Once our new accent rug arrived, I was excited to get it up to our master bedroom. The first thing that I noticed is that most of the rugs from Natural Area Rugs come with a free rug pad. So, if you are buying a rug to go on hardwood or laminate floors, you’ll have no problems with it slipping or moving around.
Next, I realized that after we unwrapped it, there was absolutely ZERO smell from the rug. No harsh chemical or plastic scents. This was a huge change from previous rugs I’ve purchased online. Normally, affordable rugs come at a hidden cost — and that hidden cost is the horrible smell coming from the factory. But this rug was a refreshing change.
After we unrolled the rug, we let it sit for a while to flatten. Then, we moved it into place at the foot of our bed. Our master bedroom has a modern classic feel to it, and this rug fit in perfectly!
It has a traditional oriental rug pattern in light and dark shades of blue. But unlike the really expensive oriental rugs, this one is durable and much easier to care for. And, it’s really soft and comfortable on our feet.
I absolutely love our new accent rug! It already makes the room look so much better than before. Adding the rug helped to ground the space and provide some interest. And, the pretty pattern helped to break up all the white and gray in the room.
We’re so happy with the quality of our accent rug from Natural Area Rugs. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
If you’re looking for an affordable modern accent rug, look no further. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite accent rugs from Natural Area Rugs. All of these options would look great in a modern classic home! Let me know which is your favorite in the comments below.
5 Affordable Modern Accent Rugs {from Natural Area Rugs}
1 – Sarafina Vintage Oriental Style Rug
This is the accent rug that we chose for our master bedroom. I love the light blue color and the pattern is subtle enough that it doesn’t clash with the other decor in the room. It’s my new favorite decor piece in our master bedroom.
2 – Harrison Contemporary Rug
I love the contemporary feel that this rug has. It’s simple and neutral, but it has a slight modern texture. This rug also comes in a few different colors, but the blue is my favorite. I’m thinking about getting this one for our dining room.
3 – Regata Vintage Oriental Rug
This oriental rug is a little more neutral. Instead of any dominant color, it has different shades of gray and an intricate pattern. This would look great in a room that already has a lot of color and needs to be grounded with something more neutral.
4 – Solara Modern Vintage Rug
This was my second choice for our master bedroom rug. I love the dark blue colors of this vintage rug. The pattern on this one is a little busier, so it’s more of a statement piece in the room.
5 – Antelope Vintage Oriental Rug
This is another rug that I almost chose for our master bedroom. I love the blue colors (you might see a theme with my rug choices) and there are also some hints of brown. This rug would look great with a room that has warmer toned decor.
