Hey friends! Are you as excited as I am to officially kick off the Christmas season? Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, I’m looking forward to seeing all the gorgeous homes decked out for Christmas.
Today I’m posting on a different day than usual because I’m a part of the “Jingle Through Decor Blog Hop.” I’ve teamed up with 7 other talented home decor bloggers to share some amazing holiday inspiration!
If you’re new here, I just wanted to take a second to say “Welcome” and introduce myself. I’m Christene and I’m so glad you’ve decided to stop by. Consider this your virtual welcome into my home. So step inside and grab a cup of coffee!
I’m passionate about all things home. Decorating, organizing, creating, renovating. You name it — I love it! I believe that your home should be a haven for your family. A place where everyone is comfortable and feels welcome.
My home style is what I like to call “Modern Classic.” It’s a little bit of traditional and a little bit of modern mixed together to create a fresh and casual atmosphere.
I’m kicking off the tour of my home with my simple Christmas dining room.

Last year for Christmas I didn’t really do much in the dining room. It’s still a “work in progress” room, so I find it difficult to decorate sometimes.
But this year, I have a new piece of furniture in the dining room — this console table. And ever since it’s been in this room, I’ve had fun decorating it for the different seasons. But out of all the seasons, I’ve been really looking forward to Christmas!
As you can see looking into the living room, we don’t have our Christmas tree up yet. That’s because we get a real tree every year. We actually just picked it out yesterday and I’m in the middle of decorating it.
Even though we didn’t have a tree yet, that didn’t stop me from getting the rest of the house decorated for Christmas.
I started with our pine and eucalyptus garland cascading down our stairs. I attached it to the railing using these pretty garland ties in the color olive green.
This has to be my absolute favorite thing during the Christmas season. Since the stairs are in the middle of our house, the garland works as a decoration for the dining room and the living room.
I shared all about how I created this look last year and I’m so excited to have it back again this year!
Psst: This garland has the look of real pine and eucalyptus but it totally fake! That means I can use it year after year and it will stay gorgeous. And bonus, it also lights up at night!

On the top of the console table, I created a simple festive display using Christmas decorations that I already had from years past.
The pinecone tree is a neutral piece that I think looks great against the board and batten wall.
I layered a simple frame in front of it that’s filled with a beautiful watercolor evergreens art print. I love that this art print is festive and modern all at the same time.
You can download this free printable art for your home too.

Beside the framed art, I have a beautiful wooden “Joy” figure. It’s one of my favorite decorations that I picked up last year at HomeGoods. Modern and classic all rolled into one decoration piece!
In front of the framed art, I added this set of amazing geometric candles. They are part of the winter 2017 collection at IKEA this year and I just LOVE them!
The colors and the clean lines make me so happy! I knew that they had to be a part of my Christmas decor this year.
Finally, at the end of the console table is my new essential oil diffuser. What? You thought that was a gold candle holder? Me too! 😉
Actually, it’s the most beautiful essential oil diffuser that I’ve ever seen and I knew that it would totally fit in with my decor! It is designed to look like a candle and when it’s diffusing, it actually glows like a candle too.
Now, I’m not an essential oil expert, but I have started diffusing them to make our home smell good. I decided to switch from my candles to essential oils during the fall because just about every one of my favorite scented candles was giving me headaches! Not fun at all.
So, to keep the amazing seasonal smells in my home I decided to go a more natural route. During the fall, I created a few simmer pots to fill our home with amazing scents. And now for Christmas, I have my new diffuser!
I have been really loving this pine essential oil because it smells like a Christmas tree. But I also got this set so that I’ll have a variety to pick from and combine.
If you know someone who loves essential oils or just likes when their home smells nice, this diffuser will make a great Christmas gift!
And if you’ve got an amazing essential oil recipe for me to try, I’d love to try them out! Leave some of your ideas in the comments.
Underneath the console table, I kept things simple in a woven basket.
I decided to leave my plaid blanket from fall. But I also added these adorable Santa pillows! Aren’t they just the cutest? They’re the perfect accent pillows for Christmas.
Over on the dining room table, I created a really simple display with the nativity set we got as a wedding gift.
I love bringing this set out every year because it reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas.
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
