Hello everyone and welcome to my Fall Home Tour for 2016!
I’m so excited to give you a peek into my home and share with you all my fall decorations.
If you’ve been following the blog recently, you may have picked up on the fact that fall is my favorite season. I love fall! It’s the season when the weather becomes perfect – not too hot and not too cold. The air is refreshing and there’s always a cool breeze stirring up all of the fallen leaves.
Fall is the coziest season, which makes it so easy to incorporate into home décor. Layers and texture help to pull everything together and make a home feel ready for fall. This year I found a few new things for my home and I also did a few DIY projects to create my own décor. I can’t wait to show you our home!
So, grab a pumpkin spiced latte and get your Pin-it button ready, because this post is filled with tons of gorgeous fall inspiration!

The first place that you’ll notice some fall addition in our home is the living room. I wanted to make the room feel extra cozy and welcoming.
I pulled out my favorite gray plaid blanket and switched out our throw pillows with these navy check ones. Navy blue and gray were two of the main seasonal colors I wanted to incorporate into this space, so is tried to stick with coordinating accents.
One thing that’s a staple in our home during the fall is candles! I love having them lit and filling the home with amazing fall scents. My favorite one currently is “leaves.”
I switched out my décor on our new end tables and added these fun fall prints (which you can download here). I also layered in a few accessories to pull everything together and create a simple display.
On the other end of the couch, I added an additional floral throw pillow. I needed to break up all the checked patterns, and this navy floral pillow complimented the décor perfectly. It’s my way of transitioning from summer to fall.
On the other end table, I layered two picture frames with some more fall accessories. September 28th this year is our third wedding anniversary! I always like to incorporate wedding pictures and some of the décor from our wedding day into our home during the fall.
One of my favorite new finds this year are these wooden textured pumpkins. I picked up two in white and one in brown to add to my décor collection. They are so my style! Wooden, textured, modern and white – all the things I love. I like them because they add a fall accent without being overly orange and red. They fit is well with the rest of our existing décor.

Looking over towards the other side of the room, you’ll see our new game cabinet. It’s kind of alone over there in the corner, so I decided to add some decorations to the top and make a whole display.
I switched out the picture frame with this pretty chalkboard art and layered in a few other fall items. The galvanized “H” was a last minute find when Michael’s was having a 70% off sale. The bargain hunter in me went crazy and I scoured through those clearance bins. I was able to get a few “H” items for my craft supplies, but this big galvanized letter and the smaller one on the end table made their way into my fall decorations.
The white pumpkin vase is a leftover from last year’s fall setup. It was another last minute buy that I scored on clearance. I mixed it in with this adorable wooden bird that I picked up this year. I love all the textures, it makes everything feel warm and cozy.

Across from the couch is probably the most difficult area in our home to photograph – our TV stand and TV. The stand is actually a bookshelf that I like to decorate and style. I didn’t change up the shelves very much for fall. I added in another white pumpkin vase and scattered three little orange pumpkins on the shelves.
Right next to the TV stand I created a cute fall setup. The crate is actually the card box from our wedding and the lantern was part of the reception décor.
I’m a huge flowers girl! I just love having fresh flowers in our home. Most of the time I like to create my own mixed garden arrangements for our home. This time, I just picked up a bunch of sunflowers and added them to a galvanized bucket. They add such a fun pop of fall color into our living room.

Moving over to the dining room, you’ll see my first DIY project, a wooden Gather sign. This sign was super easy to make, and I’ll be sharing with you later exactly how you can make one too! I wanted something a little rustic but still modern, and it turned out exactly as I was hoping for.
The twine wrapped “H” monogram is another leftover from our wedding décor. I DIY’ed this piece for our reception by wrapping twine around a cardboard letter from a craft store. It went on the mantle over a fireplace that was in the dance area of the reception. I love pulling it out in the fall because it reminds me of our wedding day!
Looking over towards the dining area, you’ll see my absolute favorite part of our fall décor this year, my fall tablescape.
I wanted to create a welcoming table setup filled with texture and gorgeous fall colors.
The house centerpiece is another bargain find that I picked up from Target. It’s actually a candle holder, but I think it anchors the table nicely.
All along the table, I added in tons of texture by using wooden slices, delicious red apples, cute pumpkins, candles, and gorgeous seeded eucalyptus.
Seeded eucalyptus is my favorite greenery and I use it all the time in our home. Whenever I see it in the grocery store, I always grab a bunch or two. It’s beautiful and also has the perfect coloring. I love to add it to my flower arrangements, but it also looks amazing just on its own.
At each place setting, I layered a simple gray napkin, a white dish, and my favorite wooden bowls. Each piece adds contrast and interest to the table.
The wood slices are also leftover décor pieces from our wedding. We used tons of wood slices in all the centerpieces at the reception. I saved a few because they were just so pretty.
The nametags for each place setting are these cute little chalkboard tags I grabbed at the Target dollar spot a while ago. When I saw them, I knew I had to have them for my craft stash. I used a chalk pen to write out the names on each one.
I just LOVE how this table turned out. All of the layers, colors, and textures work so well together. It’s honestly my perfect fall table!
Oh, and guess what? That table runner isn’t actually a table runner at all. It’s one of my favorite scarves that I picked up from the Nordstrom sale! I always heard that what you love in fashion translates into your home décor! 😉 I love the pattern and it looks great with the rest of the fall accents.

Moving into the kitchen, I tried to keep things clean and simple. I don’t really like to clutter up our kitchen space since we use it so frequently.
On our island, I pulled together a pretty white centerpiece using hydrangeas. It’s simple and clean while also being a dramatic focal point for the room.
Back in the corner, I gathered a few items together to create a display. The owl is actually a candle, and the scent is “leaves” of course!
Looking over towards the porch door, you can see my other DIY project – a gather wood slice chalkboard sign.
I also switched out our normal kitchen towels for some pretty watercolor pumpkin ones. They make me smile every time I have to do the dishes 🙂 .
The chalkboard gather sign is another DIY that I’ll be sharing with you later. The wood slice itself is actually another wedding leftover. We used it as a sign at the bar for all the drink offerings at the reception. I decided to repurpose it for my fall décor this year. Make sure to stop back and see how to make your own, and how to create the perfect chalkboard lettering.
Over on the other side of the kitchen, I added a pretty textured basket to the top of the fridge. It’s the kind of basket that I can just picture overflowing with gorgeous fall apples.
The kitchen is where I’ll be spending a lot of my time this fall because I love making fall foods. Fall always makes me want to eat soups, bread, and other warm hearty meals. It’s also when I can finally make all those pumpkin flavored desserts. Yum!
