It’s time to decorate your table for Thanksgiving! If you are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner, you’ve already got a ton on your plate. And honestly, decorating the table is probably at the bottom of your list.
Sure you want it to look beautiful, just like all those inspiration photos you’ve saved on Pinterest and Instagram. But, you just don’t have time to do something elaborate.
You need something quick and easy that’s also going to look beautiful! Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
I put together this gorgeous Thanksgiving table in about 30 minutes. And you can too! Let me show you exactly how to create a gorgeous Thanksgiving table for your home.
How To Create a Gorgeous Thanksgiving Table in 5 Easy Steps
Lay Down A Greenery Base
First you’ll need to create a base for your table decor. I like to use greenery. You can use any type of greenery, but eucalyptus is my favorite.
Both faux and real greenery would work here. I used 6 faux stems, but if you can swing it, real greenery will look beautiful!
Gather as much greenery as you need to cover the center of your table. Lay down the greenery to create a lush look that you can layer decor on top of.
Add Twinkle Lights and Candles
Next, you’ll want to add in some light. I used a strand of battery operated fairy lights to create the twinkle light glow. Just weave the lights into your greenery and hide the battery pack underneath.
I also used some tea light candles that I propped up on a few small tree slices. I think small books would also look beautiful to use as decor and raise your candle up above the greenery.
To add some dimension, I also used two candle holders in a pretty gold pattern with some larger unscented pillar candles inside.
Candles and twinkle lights will create that warm and cozy glow for your Thanksgiving table.
Create a Centerpiece
I like to create one focal point on the table as the main centerpiece of the whole display. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. Just something to catch your eye.
For my centerpiece, I used a simple ceramic vase and some faux eucalyptus stems in a beautiful yellow color. Again you could use faux or real stems here.
I love the contrast of the yellow stems with all of the green I have on the table.
Use Simple Tableware
When it comes to the tableware, I like to keep things simple. After-all, your food is going to be the star of the show on your plate.
You don’t need to have special tableware just for Thanksgiving. You can use your everyday plates and create a festive look by layering a few pieces.
I used my plain white dinner plates as a base. Then, I layered smaller orange salad plates on top. Try to contrast your dishes to create that layered look.
The glassware is just our normal cups that we use everyday. Underneath the plates, I added a plain gray napkin. And for silverware, I used this festive gold set that I found at Target.
Yes, the gold set is different from my normal everyday silverware, but I thought the pop of color was fun for Thanksgiving.
When you look at the table setting as a whole with the rest of the table decor, it looks festive and special. But, all I did was dress up my everyday plates and tableware.
Finish with Seasonal Touches
To finish off the table, add in some seasonal accents. I used these small mini pumpkins at each place setting to create a seasonal Thanksgiving feel.
I also used some faux pumpkins in the table display to bring even more of a seasonal feel to the decor with colors and texture.
There you have it! A festive, and gorgeous Thanksgiving table in under 30 minutes. I hope that this helps you pull together something beautiful for Thanksgiving this year.
Happy Holidays!
