Welcome back my decorating series
Get the Modern Classic Look for Less!
My favorite home decorating style is a mix of contemporary modern and classic traditional. I think the two styles pair so well together and create a fresh, and casual atmosphere in a home. Whenever I’m browsing through Pinterest, “Modern Classic” is a style that I see all throughout designer homes. I love the look, but I don’t love the price!
I’m a big believer that you can have a stylish home on a regular budget. There’s no reason that you need to spend $90 on a pillow cover (for example) in order to have a beautiful home. That’s just crazy! So, I decided it was time to start figuring out how I could get that modern classic look for less.
Today I’m sharing my favorite kitchen styling accessories.
In order to make a room look lived in and put together, you need to style it a little. Adding accessories to a space in a purposeful way makes a room feel thought out and pulled together.
Just like any other room in your house, the in order to make a kitchen look put together, you need to style it. The best part about the kitchen is that the styling accessories are also functional!
Utensils, bowls, and even dish towels can all be used to style your kitchen. Here are some of my favorites!

Greenery is always nice to have in a kitchen. Especially in a white kitchen, which can sometimes feel a little stark. Having a living plant (or even a fake plant) adds some life into the space. These modern planters are great for herbs!

I love the modern look of these serving utensils. They look high end but without the crazy price tag.

Wooden pieces are also really nice to have when styling a kitchen, especially a white one. Wood brings warmth into the space and some additional texture. These small bowls are perfect for stacking on an open shelf.

A cake stand is a kitchen styling essential. Cake stands can be used for so much more than just cakes. You can display other baked goods, to style an open shelf, or even to corral similar things in your kitchen. This white cake stand is perfect!

Another way to incorporate wood into your kitchen is by adding pretty wooden utensils. This ladle is classic and is a great styling accessory at a bargain price.

Kitchens don’t normally have a lot of fabric elements. So to add the texture that fabric brings into a space, try bringing in some pretty dish towels. I love these ones because they have the interesting tassels on the ends.

Soap is another item in a kitchen that’s normally sitting out all the time. Why not make it pretty too? This sophisticated soap container will look amazing in any kitchen – and the soap smells great too!

If you’ve got a few soaps or maybe a lotion as well sitting next to your sink, try corralling them together on a tray. Trays help to visually keep similar items together, and they look pretty too.

Another item that’s always around a sink is a sponge. Sometimes it’s nice to have a place to keep the sponge when it’s not in use. These pretty ceramic berry containers are perfect for keeping sponges off the countertop.

I love this set of wooden utensils. I also like that the silicone is gray which helps keep the set looking modern. These utensils are functional but also look stylish which sitting out in a crock on your countertops.

Speaking of a crock, I love this traditional one. It’s perfect for holding all of your utensils and stylish enough to fit in with the rest of your kitchen decor. The unique and handmade nature of crocks make them a nice addition to a kitchen.
